bio diesil

Postby markie b » Thu Jun 11, 2009 8:38 am

ok found a way to make bio diesil
for every 97ml of filtered used vegtable oil add 3ml non carosene white spirit leave to stand for a week so the white spirit will thin the veg oil down properly so it will burn efficiently in you engine.(for diesil fuel only)

oh yeah your supposed to tell the tax man and fill in a few forms with the tax office :rotfl: and then they can tax you on it at 29p a litre on it :puzz: the choice is obviously yours personally im going to give them the big  there are down sides to it and thats your vehicle car truck bus conveyance will emit chip oil smells :rotfl: so the hunger feeling might kick in more often then not

Well, I used it in a mix of 50:50 with regular diesel in winter and 90%-ish in summer with no problems, save it stinking like the local chippie! I used to love driving by the drunks and seeing them change direction to the food places, only to find them shut :rotfl:

i do a 50/50 veg, diesel mix in winter, and 75/25v,d in summer..(pure rapeseed oil thou, not sunflower or corn)..

and its not against the law to create, wash or use veggie oil in a car, in fact you can use 1000liters per year tax free..

what you can get in troble for is using heater oils or fluids to water down your bio/veg..white spirit, kerosean or using any die'd diesels or fuels currentlly sold.

that will have your car lifted impounded and crushed depending if they want to charge you till the start of ownership or just for the amount in the tank..

i have plans and info on how to make a home wvo filter and wash system, i will have a look and post it ;)

also got stan myers full diagrams on his water(hho) car system for petrol cars lol

and for those who are interested, a quick and cheep veg oil heater system(thins the viscosity as the oil heats)..

go to any scrap yard, look for a old diesel motor, take out the glow plug's and the switch relay for the glow plugs(stops them burning out)..

you will need two glow plugs, a tap and die set(thread size same as the thread of the glow plug(if not threaded type i will cover a different method to mount)..a small two inch thick by three inch long x two inch wide piece of copper or alu bar(steel works as well but harder for the home hobbiest to drill and thread)..drill one hole from end to end directlly through the center(slightly smaller than the fuel line) then one hole on either side staggered but opposing(these need to be to the diamiter of the glow plugs and tapped with the same thread)..once these are drilled and tapped they can be screwed in(if not screw type drill the hole to the diamiter of the plug so it slides in, then drill a smaller hole to the side and tap it for a thread to the size of the locking screws you will use with the u clamp)..

once we have the block with the two glow plugs fitted and the hole through the center, unclip the fuel line grease it slightly with a silicon vbased grease(so not to rot the rubber) then push it through the center hole(making sure the glow plug tips never entered the center chanel)..refit then wire a 12 v line from the battery to a switch inside the cab then back to the switch relay and then to the glow plugs...

you have just effectivly made your own veg oil heater(these are fitted as standered by manafactures of any motor that will be shipped to very cold climates)..

it will lower the viscosity via heating the oil and also make the oil burn more efficientlly in the combustion chambers by being hot it allows the injector vaporisers to spray it better and not clog as easily...

have fun ;)

also another way to run it through your car is do a dual set up 1 diesel and 1 veg oil run the car on diesel to begin with then flick the switch after about 2-3mins as the engine would of heated and thinned the oil sufficiently to use

Hi all,
I used to use central heating oil in my dear old rover with no problems at all by mixing 50/50 with normal diesel,I'm now using lpg with a kit I fitted myself last year,it cost £300 and it only took a day to fit and it's already paid for its self.

Ok just been on hol and catching up with the forums. I run my van (2000 vauxhall movano 2.5 non turbo) on pure veggie oil on a regular basis. Rudolf Diesel invented the "diesel engine" for this purpose, to run on any oil. Anyone who tells you otherwise in an insider. Noticed how the price of cooking oil always hovers around the price of "proper diesel". Hmmmmmmm. When using used cooking oil there is no need to add anything, but you will be changing your fuel filter every week if you do not filter it first. I ran mine down till the needle was on the stopper, and put 25 litres of sunflower oil in, I drove to Nottingham and back with no difference in performance or economy. Anyone who trys to complicate matters is merely trying to make the idea of using government diesel more appealing.
