Important Announcement

Postby treeman » Tue Dec 20, 2011 6:35 pm

This forum is now locked due to spam attacks and quick fix novices who cant be bothered to study.

1. All Inactive Registrations deleted.

2. All Zero Posters purged

3. Registrations disabled

Those of us that remain can still discuss and post as per usual and it can still be read by the outside world, but the world remains outside until further notice.

Erm diasan, you have read the introduction to this forum, haven't you?
It states quite clearly what this term means. Before you continue to post further please do have a read.

The RULE as I see it is flexible. If you are known and have contributed on a regular basis your membership is generally safe. If you are KNOWN and do not contribute regularly, and there are a few, however the posts in the members name have or are extremely important that member is safe. If a member is not known and does not post at least one post in the previous 7 days the account will be deleted (purged). If the member registers and posts 'ONE' post and the post includes any sort of spam, regardless as to how innocuous the member will be banned, IP removed from the safe IP address list and the post deleted.

Once a name (display name) has been used it cannot be used again.
If one is a spam bot ant the IP has been identified that IP address cannot be used on this forum again.

This is for NO-ONES protection, it is merely maintenance and prevents the forum from utilising space that is for all intent and purpose 'a waste'.

This process is done at irregular intervals and is usually advertised before it happens, however, NOT always.

Do not underestimate the intelligence of the admin or the mods, this is for trolls and shills. These poster's posts usually end up in the chamber of horrors after the account has been either suspended or the member banned. A 'BUMP' will normally place the original topic (prior to being trolled) back to the top of the list.

All this is done by only a few on this forum and they do a tremendous amount of work, TIME CONSUMING. Thanks for putting in the time, it is appreciated.
For those that rarely see SPAM it is because it is usually gone by 0800 and constantly removed throughout the day.

So 'WHAT constitutes 'INACTIVE REGISTRATION'?' - An account that is set up and NOT used, possibly an account to be used at a later date for SPAM.
No individual would set up an account and NOT use it, why bother to set it up if one is not going to post? One does not have to register to view what is on the forum.

Hope this answers your question.

Namaste, rev;
Don't be surprised to discover that luck favours those who are prepared

Don't delete me guys....!!! :8-):
Men fight for liberty, and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools.
And their grandchildren are once more slaves.
