Making my life hell

Making my life hell

Postby iknowmyrights » Tue Sep 18, 2012 7:35 am

So I have decided to stop letter writing, I no longer wish to deal with DCAs or CCJs and my blinds are always shut my home is dark.

So I decided to start paying the bandits. The utilities bills, the extortionate rates and the god forbid council tax.
(this is after 2yrs of not paying successfully) but I have persuaded otherwise.

And it seems that even when you want to pay, they make a huge song and dance about it, and I guess justify their jobs by doing something (making my life hell)!

I am trying to set up an account with the water company. (fresh water) They say if I want to do that I need to provide who I am. And proof of me living here.
I have never come across this before ever! Is this a new rule?
So I tell the woman that I can't prove this as:

1. I have no council tax bill as I've never paid them
2. I am certainly not showing them the tenancy agreement as that's none of their business.

So what do I do? They are literally refusing to open an account in my name
Without the above proof. How ridiculous.

So I guess they won't be getting any money from me then?

Penny for your thoughts
As they can't cut off your fresh water supply can they?

I am very tempted
To just carry on with what I was originally doing and just live in te dark as it seems it's more hassle to pay them than not!

You have done what is reasonably expected.

You have made offer to pay (settle)

What more can you do?

Oh, and open the curtains, fuck em.

You're right they can't turn it off. All they can do (if you live in a detached house) is turn it off at the stop tap at the pavement outside. And if you live in a flat, all they can do is turn it off under your sink, in both cases you just turn it back on when they've gone. But i'M pretty sure they aren't allowed to turn it off anyway (human rights and all that).

Thanks jonboy :giggle:

Yes the row of houses are all attached anyways as the first house decided to turn the water off and
It turned all the houses water off! Hahahaha
If number 1 has a shower number 7 gets no water at all etc....
It's ridiculous and all guessed with really bad pressure
And no meters

We all pay far too much money anyway for very little water and all connected
It's not fair really.

So I feel good about it now! Woop woop :cheer:

Lol @ their own bureaucracy working against them. Sounds like a goldmine of freedom if you can do it right.
