Few months ago I had a visit of two thugs calling themselves Croydon County Court Bailiffs working for Task Enforcement (stealing from peaple for TFL)
with demand of payment of £200 for unpaid penalty. To cut the long story short, they refused to identify themselves and show me the warrant.
I refused to pay so they inflated the bill to £700. I refused to pay. They called a lorry and stole my car. I made a formal complaint, been
to police explaining that the car does not belongs to me but family trust. As you may expect they don't gonna hurt each other. I did affidavit
process and assessed my fees and damages and in the meantime I managed to remove the 'warrant' as void ab initio and get my car back!
After that I could peacefully enjoy my property and forgot about stressful time to get my car back, which was particularly difficult for my family.
And perhaps I wanted to forget about it because I don't really see a way to enforce my charges. But on the other hand if I'm not enforcing it
I'm letting them to go away with their scam.
So I read this nice article about liens
http://lien.fmotl.com/ and I think that could be a way move forward. The lien process is quite simple,
what I am not sure about is public record debt entry e.g. property charge. It looks easy in US, but in UK they try to guard every door.
I thought maybe to ask may some of you guys who might have some experience you can share that it would be easier to get started.
Peace.
