Derelict land which has been dormant for over a decade, probably closer to 20 years. Has been passed around a few arms length council bodies. Now owned by developer who has not commenced any work since obtaining the title (approx 2 years ago). The site is open (big gaps in the fence for years) and the locals often go there to hang out as they have for over a decade. Is there a possibility that we could argue adverse possession as this is continual use by local people and no-one else has used the land for at least 10 years. I know it's a bit of a weak argument but the developers are real scum and we want to claim the land for the community.
