Reality is harsh. It can be cruel and ugly.

Yet no matter how much we grieve over our environment and circumstances nothing will change.

Suffering only gets worse when we try to run from it rather than facing it. What is important is not to be defeated, to forge ahead bravely.

If we do this, a path will open before us.

There will be times in life when you cannot succeed. Or times when hardship seems about to crush you. Such times are inevitable, yet we should not allow our spirits to be broken by them.

Rather than becoming discouraged, know that encountering a wall is proof of the progress that you have made so far. Anyone can hit a wall.

The anguish felt then is proof of one’s desire to move forward. But all is for naught if you falter at that moment.

Action, that is the key to breaking through an impasse.

Remaining silent in the face of injustice is the same as supporting it. In the fight between justice and evil, taking a neutral stance and being indifferent is the same as siding with evil.

People who trample on others’ rights, no matter how respectable they may seem, are merely barbarians. Respect for human rights is a barometer of civilization.

Human rights, democracy and peace are a single entity. When one disintegrates, they all disintegrate.

Human society is made up of people who have met success and those who have not. People always have many different roles to play. The crucial thing is to be determined to make a wholehearted effort in everything and be fully engaged in what we are doing at any given moment.

The secret to successfully fulfilling a variety of roles is to concentrate fully on the task at hand and give it our best effort with enthusiasm, maintaining a positive, forward-looking attitude and not worrying.

No one knows for sure whether their life will be blessed by fortune or burdened by fate. The elation of triumph is short-lived, but those who understand that every setback, too, is only temporary and who continue to make steady efforts with confidence and conviction, can achieve truly great things.

Ultimately, victory comes from never giving in to defeat living your life like a roaring lion. Slanderers and impostors are like barking foxes and a roaring lion cannot be intimidated by barking foxes.
